Shipping and Delivery
*During the COVID-19 outbreak, Manhattan Aquariums is offering a free delivery service with any purchase greater than $49. (exceptions - aquariums larger then 20 gallons, sand or rock purchases greater than 10 pounds) The Free Delivery range is within Manhattan between 96th St. and Canal St. Delivery will be coordinated with our service department along our current routes and will usually be delivered between 1-3 days. During this time, our current hours have been amended to 12-6PM, 7 days a week.
SHIPPING: We do not currently ship livestock outside the continental U.S. For livestock, we ship Monday thru Thursday via UPS Overnight. Drygoods will be shipped Monday thru Friday via UPS Ground or USPS Priority. We do not ship on the weekends.
We use professional packing materials and will utilize heat/cold packs, for livestock, determinate of the weather between us. Order cut-off is 12PM EST for shipping same day of order placement.
Currently, we can deliver items purchased through the site or over the phone for an additional delivery fee. We will send items out as soon as possible, but may take a few days. Please contact us for delivery requests.
$30 within Manhattan for products <15lbs.
$50 within Manhattan for small tanks <30 gallons

We’re fanatical about making sure that your livestock arrives in the best possible condition, so we take great measures to assure a smooth trip from our store to you. We use strong, insulated packaging materials, and your order will be packed with care by some of the most skillful and experienced hands in the industry! We make sure that we use plenty of water, oxygen, and as needed, heat or cold packs, to assure that your livestock arrives healthy and happy. We generally try to ship within two business days after your order is placed (weather permitting). You will receive tracking information from us as soon as your order is shipped.
If you are in the Tri-State area and wish to stop by our store during our normal business hours (7 Days a Week 12 - 6PM), please select "Local Pickup" for shipping and call us to arrange a time to come by and pick up your order. It's fun to meet our customers and you'll enjoy seeing the Manhattan Aquariums show room!
As Mark Twain once said, “Everyone is talking about the weather, but nobody’s doing anything about it.” Unfortunately, we’re still in the same boat. About the best we can do is to advise you to keep an eye on the weather when you place your order. UPS and USPS often experiences delays during inclement weather and we are not liable for shipping delays or potential losses as a result of delays due to weather extremes. Since they won’t reimburse either of us if the order is lost due to extreme weather, it’s best to avoid placing orders altogether during extreme weather conditions.
HAWAIIAN CUSTOMERS: Unfortunately, we are not allowed to ship livestock into the State of Hawaii. We can, however, ship dry goods. As you are no doubt aware, shipping between the mainland and the Islands can be quite expensive! We do feel your pain! Whenever possible, we'll try to ship dry goods with USPS Flat Rate. However, when we cannot use Flat Rate, we'll use the least expensive method possible, and we will pass some of the shipping costs on to you, as our rates are based upon shipping in the continental U.S. However, in extreme cases, we will make every effort to help subsidize your shipping costs by offering you some additional merchandise, or credits for future purchases, etc.
U.S. TRUST TERRITORIES: Unfortunately, FedEx rates to Puerto Rico and other U.S. Trust Territories are significantly more expensive than rates within the contiguous United States for both livestock (where permitted) and dry goods. Our rates were developed for the contiguous United States only, and additional charges may apply to orders shipped to U.S. Trust Territories. We will contact you with these additional charges prior to shipping.
HOLDING OF ORDERS: We understand that sometimes you see a coral that you just HAVE to have, and that circumstances may be in play that keep you from taking delivery of the coral immediately. We frequently receive requests to hold corals until customers are ready. We are happy to comply with this request; however, we can only hold corals for a maximum of ONE WEEK after the order is placed. Special circumstances, such as weather delays, etc. may result in this period being extended. Nevertheless, one week is the maximum length of time we will hold corals for you under normal circumstances. After that length of time, we simply cannot guarantee that the coral will be in the condition that it was when you ordered it. We have a large facility with many corals moving in and out, and we are not really equipped to "babysit" corals for the long term. Thank you for your understanding.
VIRTUAL GIFT CARDS: Remember, this is a virtual product, so we email it to you and there is NO SHIPPING CHARGE FOR GIFT CARDS! Indicate "Local Pickup" if you are ordering one of these!
IF YOU PLACE MORE THAN ONE ORDER BEFORE WE SHIP: Maybe you just placed an order, and you suddenly notice that the Chalice you've been waiting for all year has just shown up on our site. This happens a lot during our weekend sales! What to do? Go ahead and place the order on our site. However, if you've already paid for shipping, indicate "Local Pickup" for your delivery option and you won't be charged again. We'll combine and ship your orders together! Of course you can always call us and we can figure out the best course of action for your circumstances.
